Dani Glidewell is an expert academic, fiction, and technical editor with 10 years of diverse editing experience, including two years with a multinational Fortune 500 corporation. She works on a wide range of materials from peer-reviewed papers to genre fiction novels, literary magazines, web content, technical and safety manuals, newspapers, educational materials, essays, and creative nonfiction. She is expert in US, UK, and Canadian English, and in American Medical Association (AMA), American Psychological Association (APA), Associated Press (AP), Canadian Press (CP), Chicago Manual of Style (CMOS), and Council of Science Editors (CSE) styles.
Dani started Glidewell Edits to bring together her passions for science and fiction, which have expanded into a desire to work with all forms of writing. She believes every author deserves to have their unique story heard, and that accurate communication is vital to the continued growth of humanity’s collective knowledge. She is delighted to help writers of all types realize their visions and communicate their findings in their clearest possible voices.
Dani Glidewell graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a master’s degree in biology—specializing in limnology—and dual bachelor’s degrees in professional writing and biology. Her writing degree focused on science fiction and fantasy. Her master’s research focused on algal toxins and science communication, and her scientific background includes expertise in biology, ecology, chemistry, agronomy, paleontology, and statistics. Before she began her career in editing, she was an instructor of introductory biology at the University of Oklahoma, during which time she developed a love of teaching and guiding students on how to effectively communicate their results in writing.
She currently lives in Norman, Oklahoma with one turtle, three dogs, four lizards, and 11 adorable tarantulas.
